The ninja. Most of these days, we use it as a term to describe a popular type of free-running, especially involving a warped wall. But many forget that sport originated in Japan, and is referred to under the name of one of the country's most famous ninjas in history. As every anime geek probably knows right now, the most successful anime revolving around ninjas has to be Naruto and its sequel Naruto Shippuden. But even the most iconic loudmouth from the Hidden Leaf Village wasn't the first ninja to achieve popularity! Sure, there were four brothers that turtle-y kicked shell throughout the 80s and 90s, and that also led to the rise of many knockoffs, including Samurai Pizza Cats.
