All I did was question why a member who was apparently critical of the mods got banned for something that I had never seen anybody get banned for before. I thought it was a bit unusual and said so.

Then the intimidation started. First the insulting pictures and quote-changing (nothing unusual there), then messing with my signature and stalking every post I made.
I had the choice of either walking away or standing up to him, and I decided on the latter.

I had screenshots of his signature changes, so he invented a sock to try to discredit them.
Then I made the mistake of posting a picture that had a child in it, and suddenly there was a new rule that meant I was now in danger of being banned. Then he started removing my posts and putting them back just to intimidate me.
He sent me threatening (and I mean threatening) PMs, so in the end I had to disable them.

I really thought you people should be made aware -- would want to be aware -- of what this guy was up to for the simple reason that if he can do that to me, and Baller, and Stumbler, and Stebbi, and Hatsoff then he can do it to any of you, and the longer he was getting away with it, and with the other "moderators" supporting it, the worse he was going to get!
But then I guess as long as happens to unpopular people and not to you and your cliquey fucking friends, then it's ok right?

I am neither a wind-up merchant nor a troll, just someone who doesn't like to see power-mad sociopaths (and I don't use that word lightly) in a position of trust, abusing that power for their own vindictive amusement, and if that means doing what you perceive as whining, bumping threads and making myself unpopular in the process -- then so be it.

In fact . . . fuck it! Why did I fucking bother? Knocking myself out and taking all that abuse while you and the rest of the sheep sit in your little forum comfort-zone. Maybe you get the moderators you deserve!

Last point: The admin took his badge back. Do you think they would do that for no good reason? Do you think that was anything to do with my "whining?"
From what I've just been told, I seriously doubt that. I doubt if the admin have even read one word of what I've written.

Nope, never had any "targets" so I won't be looking for any new ones.
I was the target of a moderator abusing his power. He doesn't have the power any more so the issue's closed as far as I'm concerned.

What I find intriguing though, is that a moderator (who is infinitely more deserving of the term "troll" than I) is abusing his power. A few people express some concern about this and are quickly shouted down by both the mods and a fair cross-section of the membership.
It's always been my experience that most people tend to decry bullying and intimidation by a person in a position of power. How strange that this doesn't seem to happen on this forum.

Just how many accounts do the moderators have here?

Whenever I've read your posting on this forum, I always thought that you were a reasonable, fair-minded and intelligent chap who was unlikely to resort to cheap abuse like this.

Regardless of whether or not you think that I've been "trolling," facts are facts, and the fact is that Azriel has been demoted -- presumably because of his actions as a moderator, of which I -- among others -- have first hand experience.

The fact that I feel strongly enough about that to post about it does not make me a "troll," any more than people who feel strongly about any subject -- albeit politics, religion or child-abuse who post about their concerns are trolls.

What astounds me is the insouciance of the other moderators and outright hostility of the membership towards people who have brought this subject up. Remember the "shock-waves" (as one member recently described it) that went through this forum when Zyber removed a few threads? Remember the hysteria and outrage that accompanied Shakezula's appointment as a moderator, which probably played some part in his resignation?
Then Azriel, a troll whose posting style consists of "oh-so-funny" abusive pictures and juvenile quote-changing is appointed and there isn't a peep!
Then, when he starts abusing his powers for his own vindictive amusement, do the rank and file rise up in hysterical outrage? . . . No!
Instead they turn on anyone who has the audacity to draw attention to these events with ridicule and the kind of ad hominem attack that you've just delivered.

Frankly, I'm bewildered, amazed and very suspicious.

 

Got spam? No problem. I've got time. I know everyone else has a job and a life and how demanding the job of moderator can be and I would feel cowardly if I actually have the time and no job to worry about and didn't volunteer to aid the forum in this time of need, or I mean spam.

Hell, I'm home just about all day everyday and on the internet most of the time anyway. And especially being in the same time zone as AZRIEL is (or was) I think I'm the guy for the spam wars.

Well look, if losing AZRIEL has created such an increased work load, and if my contention with him has contributed to that then its only fair that I be willing to do my part to help defuse any hardship I might have created.

After all I think there's at least two threads up right now that decry the loss of AZRIEL and by extension extra work for our moderators then if I've helped create a hardship I sure want to do my part to lessen it if I can.

Otherwise, one might surmise that actually the "spam" and the need for AZRIEL'S help in dealing with it is a straw dog sort of thing.

But if its a real problem well then count me in as a volunteer to help.
