While the internet has deemed that Melanie Lynskey and her husband, Jason Ritter, are their couple goals, the Yellowjackets star isn't so sure.

"We talk about it sometimes and we say it's a bit scary because nothing's perfect and nobody's perfect, so we're just like, 'Don't let it…,' " Lynskey, 47, tells PEOPLE at the Yellowjackets FYC event in North Hollywood, Calif. on the eve of the season 3 finale on Thursday, April 10.

"I'm always, again, scared about jinxing [it]. But I love him so much. I'm really lucky. He's a great person and we really like each other," the actress continues. "I hope it works out. It's a bit like, 'God, is the world going to be broken-hearted if it doesn't?' "

But, luckily for fans, "it's looking good so far," she adds.

While Ritter, 45, didn't walk the red carpet with Lynskey at Thursday's event, the internet's favorite couple did pose together on March 24, at The Last of Us season 2 premiere at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood.

Although not part of season 2, Lynskey played a revolutionary in season 1 while her husband made a cameo as an infected person in the final episode of her arc on the HBO drama.

Since then, Ritter has gone on to star on the Matlock reboot, while his wife has also appeared on Candy, The Tattooist of Auschwitz and Poker Face in between seasons of playing Shauna on Yellowjackets

Speaking of the CBS legal drama led by Kathy Bates, Lynskey recently told PEOPLE that when it comes to what unfolds on her husband's series, she doesn't want anything revealed in advance.

"I don't want to hear any spoilers, I hate it," she said of watching Ritter's work. "I'll remember. I'll be watching the show like, 'Oh, I know this is going to happen.' It drives me crazy."

However, Ritter's approach to watching Lynskey's work is quite different. "He can hear every spoiler and forget it, and then just watch the show and still be like, 'Oh my God.' And I'm like, 'How are you surprised? You asked me to tell you the whole plot and now it's happening,' " Lynskey recalled, adding that "his whole family is like that though."

"They'll tell each other the entire plot of a movie and then they'll be like, 'Oh, we can't wait to see that,' " she shared.
